Application Engineer (Yishun)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Application and Solution Engineering Department

Report to: Application Engineering Manager

Functional Relationships with:

ASEAN-based business development stakeholders, including the Product Engineering, Business Development, and Sales teams, as well as maintain close coordination with the relevant Product Department at the Japan headquarters.

POSITION PROFILE:

Based in: Singapore

Job Site: Yishun

The successful candidate will: be responsible for pre-sale support to expand ASEAN, India & Oceania business and support local sales for design wins. Regional travel is required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

. Provide pre-sales technical support to local and regional customers to support design-in and design-win activities.

. Collaborate with product engineering and related teams to assist in troubleshooting, evaluation, and basic installation strategies.

. Support the development and demonstration of feasible application solutions (including PoC) for customers and internal stakeholders, mainly in the IoT and wireless domain.

. Assist customers with the integration of Murata products (sensors, wireless communication modules, etc.) into their systems.

. Participate in technical innovation or application projects to support product promotion and solution validation.

. Support technical discussions and joint solution activities with selected third-party partners.

. Develop, test, and verify application use cases and demo setups for regional market needs.

. Assist in preparing application-focused technical materials and demo content for business development activities.

. Provide engineering support for emerging business or NRE-related projects under guidance.

. Conduct or support basic product training, demo showcase, and field engineering support for customers when required.

Ability / Competency Required:

. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields. 2-3 years of relevant experience in electronics, semiconductor, OEM/EMS, or design service environments is preferred.

. Basic knowledge of embedded systems and programming concepts (e.g. C/C++), with willingness to learn through hands-on application support.

. General understanding or interest in IoT systems, sensors, and/or wireless communication technologies.

. Basic exposure to hardware or system evaluation using development kits, reference designs, or standard test equipment is an advantage.

. Awareness of electronic systems and integration concepts deep circuit or PCB design experience is not mandatory.

. Ability to support demo, prototype, or proof‑of‑concept activities under guidance.

. Good communication skills and a collaborative working attitude to support regional and cross-functional teams.

. Positive learning mindset, adaptability, and willingness to grow in a fast‑changing technical environment.

. Willingness to travel regionally when required.
