The Application Engineer supports the successful deployment of IMS applications to help clients achieve their operational and business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, familiarity with external sensors, and basic knowledge of SQL.
A global technology provider specializing in advanced sensing, measurement, and process control solutions for high-precision manufacturing environments. The organization supports customers across semiconductor fabrication, vacuum technology, and other critical industrial applications by delivering hardware, software, and data-driven solutions that enhance process stability, yield, and operational efficiency.
The Job
- Provide technical application support for semiconductor sensors and software to existing customers and prospective fabrication facilities.
- Perform system installation, user training, and sensor maintenance both on-site and remotely.
- Troubleshoot critical product performance issues at the hardware level and monitor equipment health through periodic installed-base audits.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical escalations, and discussions related to new business opportunities.
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence within key semiconductor fabrication facilities to support operations and relationship building.
- Engage with fab stakeholders to identify operational challenges that can be addressed through sensor and software solutions, while establishing strong rapport with key customer contacts.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to define account strategies, understand customer technical requirements, manage expectations, and develop compelling value propositions.
- Interface internally with Product and Account Management teams to communicate technical requirements and provide solution recommendations, particularly where standard offerings may not fully meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with regional and global counterparts to share knowledge and leverage cross-regional opportunities.
- Develop sensor recipes and perform data analysis for fault detection and classification (FDC) using both proprietary and customer systems.
- Provide specialized technical expertise and advisory support to customers within assigned domains.
- Collect, analyze, and present technical data; conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and ROI-based evaluations to support customer decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
The Talent
- Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines such as Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related sciences; alternatively, a diploma in a relevant engineering field with work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Demonstrated adaptability in diverse field environments and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose issues and solve complex technical problems.
- Highly organized, with strong computer literacy and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes is preferred; familiarity with semiconductor process control systems (FDC, APC), factory automation, and statistical process control is an advantage.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- A strong willingness to learn, collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with clients, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 10%).
