About this Position As a Laboratory Application Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting customer and business needs through laboratory testing, technical investigations, and product performance analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Application Engineering, Marketing, and Product Development, to deliver technical insights, resolve product-related challenges, and support innovation projects. This role combines hands-on laboratory operations, root cause analysis, customer-facing technical reporting, and compliance with quality and safety standards, making it ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating across functions to deliver customer-focused solutions.
What You´ll Do
- Supports internal and external technical requests and projects through performing lab testing
- Completes Customer Technical Testing Requests and Reports within the database or equivalent. Performs / supports completion of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plan on all product related performance complaints
- Writes customer facing reports for the Field Sales/Application Engineering teams, Key Account Managers, Marketing, Product Development and Innovations or project team
- Runs and upkeeps laboratory equipment, leads/supports ongoing standardization, harmonization and administration of laboratory test methods, prepares SOP & risk assessment of lab operations/activities
- Manage the lab, ensures laboratory and application equipment are calibrated and safety checked in compliance with local regulations
- To assist in day-to-day laboratory operations e.g. arrangement for testing, inventory control of laboratory supplies and chemicals, lab consumables etc
- Maintain and upkeep laboratory records, including documentations for inventories, SDS and safety
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain good housekeeping
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Material Science, or relevant Engineering/technical discipline preferred.
- At least 3-5 year(s) of working experience in a related field, preferably with knowledge on adhesives and/or handling equipment such as DSC, TGA, TMA, SEM/EDX, EA Analysis and rheometer will be an added advantage
- Ability to multi-task, and work independently.
- Good analytical, presentation, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge or experience of material property tests (DSC, DMA, TMA, TGA, Rheometer) or failure analysis methods (SEM, EDX, CSAM, ion-milling) is an advantage.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
