Application Engineer

Role:

As an Application Engineer, you will be required to profitably deliver factory-level software solutions to customers. You will leverage the Company's products, software expertise, and custom software capabilities to meet customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a software expert, demonstrating:

• Expertise of the Company and Critical Manufacturing (MES software) products
• Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Semiconductor markets
• Support for digital product business development across the Rest of Asia region
• Expertise in equipment interface technologies (e.g. Operations Information Broker, Hermes, SECS/GEM, CFX)

2. Deliver factory solution, including:

• Delivery of material logistics and automation projects
• Integration of solutions with customer MES/ERP systems

3. Deliver custom software solutions, including:

• Designing and delivering custom software solutions
• Providing custom integration solutions to MES systems and third-party systems

4. Perform solution analysis, proposal specification, effort estimation, implementation, testing, installation and acceptance at customer sites

5. Provide technical support to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction

6. Coordinate with global and regional teams on combined projects, to share product knowledge, and technologies

7. Follow guidance from the Design Authority and Configuration Manager regarding software development standards

8. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline

2. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

3. Proficiency in .Net/C#, webservices, XML/JSON, object-oriented design (OOD), networking, GUI development

4. Experience in direct customer interactions

5. Experience in SMT/Semiconductor domain

6. Expertise in Software design and implementation

7. Skilled in project management and planning

8. Strong problem-solving skills, with a drive to deliver profitable projects

9. Hands-on experience in customer factory environments

10. Good customer-facing communication skills

11. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment, across departments and teams

12. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
