Contract Type: 12-month contract
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend support (9AM-6 PM). Flexible work-from-home arrangements and time off in lieu available for weekend & PH holiday.
We are seeking a self-driven and motivated Junior Application Analyst to join our team in supporting and enhancing business-critical derivatives trading systems and shared data platforms. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work and want to use their experience in Python / Java (advantageous), observability tools, and cloud-based applications in a production-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 / Level 3 production support for derivatives trading applications, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance.
Investigate and resolve application issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks in a time-critical trading environment.
Apply AI-enabled tools (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive analytics, intelligent monitoring) to proactively identify and mitigate incidents.
Perform application recovery, verification, and monitoring, including off-office hours and weekend support as required.
Conduct non-functional testing, identifying breakpoints, security vulnerabilities, and application anomalies.
Monitor application health and performance using appropriate tools and observability platforms.
Automate routine production support tasks using scripting (Python, PowerShell) and AI-enhanced solutions.
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to implement fixes and system improvements.
Maintain accurate documentation for support procedures, known issues, and resolutions.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOPs, including vulnerability remediation, audit evidence extraction, and system hygiene.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
3-5 years of experience in software development, system analysis, or application support roles (profiles with 6+ years may be considered overqualified).
Proficiency in Java and/or scripting languages (SQL, Python, Shell).
Hands-on experience supporting applications on Linux and Windows platforms.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Production-first mindset with the ability to operate under pressure in a trading environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Advantageous Skills
Knowledge of derivatives products and trading operations (e.g., FX, Rates, Options, Futures).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
