Job Description

App Review & User Insights Specialist - Job Description

An App Review & User Insights Specialist is responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting user reviews and feedback from mobile applications. The main purpose of this role is to understand user behaviour, measure satisfaction, and provide insights that help improve app performance, features, and overall user experience.

In this role, you will monitor user reviews from platforms such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as well as other feedback channels like in-app surveys, customer support tickets, and social media comments. Your job is to organise this feedback in a structured way so it can be easily analysed.

A key responsibility is to identify trends and patterns in user feedback. This includes recognising common issues such as bugs, crashes, slow loading times, confusing interfaces, or missing features. You will group similar feedback together and highlight the most frequently mentioned concerns. These insights are then shared with product managers, developers, and design teams to help guide improvements and updates.

Another important part of the role is analysing user sentiment. This means understanding whether feedback is positive, negative, or neutral, and tracking how this changes over time. For example, you may compare user satisfaction before and after a new app update to evaluate its impact.

The App Review & User Insights Specialist also prepares clear and simple reports that summarise key findings. These reports may include user satisfaction trends, top complaints, popular feature requests, and overall app rating performance. The goal is to help teams make data-driven decisions based on real user experiences.

Strong attention to detail is essential in this role, as small patterns in feedback can reveal important product issues. Good communication skills are also important, especially when explaining user insights in a clear and practical way.

Basic knowledge of mobile apps and user experience is helpful. You may also use spreadsheets or simple analytics tools to organise and visualise feedback data.

This role is ideal for individuals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in improving digital products through user feedback and behavioural insights. It can be done remotely or in an office depending on the company.
