Job Summary
The APAC Trade & Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating import and export logistics across the APAC region, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade requirements. This role oversees and facilitates the smooth flow of goods between APAC countries, provides operational support to regional markets and works closely with internal teams to optimise supply chain efficiency and resolve trade-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
1. Import and Export Operations:
- Manage APAC freight import and export operations for finished goods via ocean, air, and courier.
- Ensure timely deliveries by coordinating shipments from HQ to local and other APAC's DCs.
- Optimise documentation & compliance by preparing shipping documents and ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Monitor performance by logistics providers to evaluate and optimise service levels and resolve any shipping challenges proactively.
- Collaborate with domestic import and export team of other APAC markets to ensure smooth customs clearance and minimise unnecessary customs disputes.
- Control logistics costs by optimizing freight rates and customs-related expenses while ensuring payments submissions are met within deadline.
- Communicate with supplier for export requirements and prepare various import and export documents.
- Any other adhoc duties assigned by the management team.
Trade Compliance
- Collect relevant information on import and export materials and verify corresponding permit requirements, customs requirements, standards, and related documentation.
- Maintain control of all import permits and licenses across APAC, ensuring continuous alignment with regulatory requirements and proper classifications of HS Code.
- Monitor internal compliance controls, conduct regular reviews, and provide recommendations for improvements to prevent policy violations and ensure effective risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in International Trade, Supply Chain Management or any related field
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience in import and export, international logistics, warehouse management and local distribution
- Experience with APAC trade and custom regulations, importing permits and licenses of APAC countries is a plus
- Strong communication and coordination skills
