Responsibilities
Team Introduction: The APAC Accounting and Reporting team in ByteDance is responsible for the core financial accounting activities of entities within the region. The team establishes in-region accounting processes for multiple businesses, provides financial guidance, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure accurate and compliant reporting. This includes the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as reviewing, analyzing, and reporting in accordance with applicable accounting principles and regulations across the APAC region. We are seeking a Senior Accountant based in Singapore to support the accounting and reporting of the Global Payments entities in APAC. This is a new role that will work closely with the Global Payments team to ensure all compliance and reporting requirements are completed accurately and within deadlines. Aligned with the company's globalization strategy and vision, the Global Payments Finance team is building a world-class platform to deliver cross-border payment solutions supporting all of ByteDance's products and services, which are rapidly expanding worldwide. - In charge of accounting and reporting for the Group's Global Payment entities in APAC, including but not limited to Singapore entities. - Post journal entries to ensure smooth monthly and quarterly closings. - Prepare trial balances and financial statements accurately and on time. - Perform monthly account reconciliations and related tasks. - Liaise with external auditors during annual financial audits and statutory reporting for assigned entities manage the full audit cycle to ensure all reporting deadlines are met. - Prepare financial data to support the tax team in completing tax submissions and assist in tax inspections, if any. - Prepare financial data required for government declarations and other statutory filings. - Provide financial data and analysis according to the business needs of other departments. - Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC), and other Finance teams to ensure compliance with local regulations. - Support ad-hoc projects, including system enhancements and process improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. - Extensive experience from a Big 4 firm within payments or financial institutions, with a strong understanding of accounting and reporting across SEA or extensive experience in financial and compliance reporting within payments, fintech, banking, or consumer finance sectors. - Familiarity with seller finance, Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL), and other credit businesses, including related accounting assessments. - Experience in month-end closing, conducting analytical reviews and preparation of full sets of accounts. - Basic knowledge of tax requirements and regulatory compliance across SEA countries. - Excellent interpersonal and communication, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: - Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CA are a plus. - Well-versed with IFRS and familiar with local financial and compliance regulations in the APAC region. - Familiarity with financial internal control processes, system implementation, and process optimization preferred.
