Responsibilities
Team Introduction: The APAC Accounting and Reporting team in ByteDance is responsible for the core financial accounting activities of entities within the region. The team establishes in-region accounting processes for multiple businesses, provides financial guidance, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure accurate and compliant reporting. This includes the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as reviewing, analyzing, and reporting in accordance with applicable accounting principles and regulations across the APAC region. We are looking for a Senior Accountant based in Singapore to support accounting and financial reporting for the Group's APAC data centre operations, with a strong focus on revenue and receivables cycle closing, month-end and quarter-end reporting, statutory compliance, and audit coordination across regional entities. This role will work closely with cross-functional Finance teams, including Tax, Treasury, and FSSC, to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement across the region. This will be a fully onsite work arrangement. Responsibilities: - In charge of accounting and reporting for the Group's entities in APAC, including but not limited to Singapore entities, part of the focus will be revenue and receivables cycle closing. - Post journal entries to ensure smooth monthly and quarterly closings. - Prepare trial balances and financial statements accurately and on time. - Perform monthly account reconciliations and related tasks. - Liaise with external auditors during annual financial audits and statutory reporting for assigned entities manage the full audit cycle to ensure all reporting deadlines are met. - Prepare financial data to support the tax team in completing tax submissions and assist in tax inspections, if any. - Prepare financial data required for government declarations and other statutory filings. - Provide financial data and analysis according to the business needs of other departments. - Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC), and other Finance teams to ensure compliance with local regulations. - Support ad-hoc projects, including system enhancements and process improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. - Extensive experience in a professional services firm, with a strong understanding of accounting and reporting across SEA. - Well-versed in IFRS and familiar with financial and compliance regulations across the APAC region. - Experience in month-end closing, analytical reviews, and preparation of full sets of accounts. - Basic knowledge of tax requirements and regulatory compliance across SEA countries. - Familiarity with financial internal controls, system implementation, and process optimization. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills, with proficiency in Mandarin to support frequent communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and markets self-motivated with strong logical thinking, a growth mindset, and the ability to drive process improvements and solutions. Preferred Qualifications: - Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CA are an advantage. - Experience in the data centre industry and lease accounting assessments is preferred.
