Job Description

The Red Hat APAC Technology Sales team is looking for an OpenShift Platform Leader to join our team. This leadership position is responsible for the quality and execution of the APAC OpenShift Platform business as well as the field execution for Application Platform, Cloud Services, and AI specialists. This role is also responsible for the development and advocacy of Red Hat's go-to-market (GTM) strategies and tactics in APAC for the OpenShift Platform business, which is inclusive of Cloud-Native Infrastructure (container management, OpenStack, and virtualization) and Application Platform (app platform, AI, and app services).

What You Will Do

  • Hire, develop, retain, and lead OpenShift Sales Specialist within the Geo (SSPs, Black Belts/Cloud SSAs, and SSAs), to deliver OpenShift offerings through all sales motions
  • Lead the OpenShift sales strategy for the Geo, including articulation of the clear business value of Red Hat's Cloud-Native Infrastructure and Application Platform to continue to elevate our impact on both our internal and external customers, driving growth through net new opportunities.
  • Accountable for the Geo OpenShift targets and planned growth.
  • Serve as the technical thought leader for OpenShift, acting as a trusted advisor to Red Hat account teams within the Geo.
  • Collaborate with the OpenShift Platform Leader for global OpenShift sales execution and talent management, including ensuring technical sellers are meeting the required technical proficiencies for their role.
  • Collaborate with the Geo RHEL, AI, and Ansible Platform leaders when joint GTMs may be required to simplify our offerings from the customer point of view.
  • Support and contribute to the hiring of OpenShift Specialists (SSPs, Black Belts/Cloud SSAs, and SSAs) in the Geo.
  • Review associates performance and related performance management activities, quarterly, with regional OpenShift Platform Leaders, providing results of that review to the Geo Tech Sales leader.
  • Assesses the performance of regional OpenShift Leaders based upon sales execution and team talent management (time/attentiveness to hiring, attrition, associate engagement, quarterly connection completion, etc.).
  • Synthesizes regional feedback for the Product team and Engineering reviews.
  • Lead monthly Business Leadership Team (BLT) meeting.
  • Execute global sales plays with the support of the Global and Segment sales teams.
  • Partner with the Ecosystem Tech Sales Leader to incorporate Ecosystem strategies into OpenShift execution.
  • Partner with the Ecosystem team to implement and execute partner-focused GTM initiatives.
  • Represents Red Hat through public thought leadership (written and/or spoken advocacy).

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in a sales leadership role in a technology sales environment.
  • Strong technical and business background with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering on complex projects.
  • Experience managing sales and technical pre-sales associates.
  • Proven track record in managing direct and indirect teams, as well as strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience with application development, deployment, and operations, enterprise integration technologies and patterns, information technology security, API strategy and management, data management, DevOps & GitOps, serverless, service mesh, and other related Application Platform technologies and patterns.
  • Experience with emerging technologies and use cases, like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), machine learning operations (MLOps), data engineering, large language models (LLMs), artificial intelligence operations (AIOps), generative AI and augmented intelligence, edge architectures, and deployment patterns
  • Experience with cloud platforms, e.g,. AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to present to and have conversations at multiple levels with a custome,r from developers and architects to infrastructure and operations teams, to strategic executives and C-level management
  • Experience with a digital transformation effort as part of sales, consulting, or as a customer
  • Strong understanding of market opportunities, the competitive landscape, and deep technical expertise in OpenShift solutions and related technologies, trends, and concepts
  • Bachelor's degree (or US foreign equivalent) in computer information systems, computer science, or related field
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, following Red Hat's established travel and expense policies.
