APAC Head of Legal & Compliance, Financial Services (Singapore)

We are partnering with a global financial institution seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance leader to oversee regulatory and governance matters across the APAC region. Based in Singapore, this role provides strategic guidance to executive leadership while ensuring that regional entities operate in full alignment with local regulations, internal frameworks, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal and regulatory advisory support across commercial, operational, and strategic business initiatives.
• Oversee regional compliance programs covering Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
• Advise on regulatory impacts of business decisions and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.
• Maintain constructive relationships with regulators and act as the key point of contact for compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess risk exposure, and drive remediation initiatives where required.
• Lead the rollout and enhancement of governance and compliance frameworks across APAC.
• Coordinate with external counsel and compliance partners to support cross-border initiatives.
• Promote a strong culture of ethics, transparency, and regulatory awareness across all business units.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law (or higher qualification).
• At least 5-10 years experience in legal or compliance roles within financial services, preferable with understanding of APAC regulatory environments.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions.
