About the Client:
Our client is a growing financial institution with expanding commodities and precious metals capabilities across APAC. As part of its regional growth strategy, they are looking for an experienced commodities leader to spearhead the Precious Metals & Futures business across trading, structured financing, client coverage, and operational governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bullion & Commodities Leadership: Lead the firm's APAC Precious Metals & Futures business, covering physical gold trading, bullion financing, futures, structured transactions, and regional market expansion.
- Regulatory & Licensing Oversight: Serve as the Designated Officer and Licence Holder under Singapore's PSPM Act, overseeing AML/CFT governance, STR reporting, regulatory filings, and ongoing engagement with MinLaw, MAS, and compliance stakeholders.
- Business Development & Client Coverage: Drive growth across institutional, wholesale, and high-net-worth client segments, including banks, brokers, commodity houses, crypto platforms, and financial institutions across APAC.
- Trading & Structured Solutions: Manage bullion pricing strategy, spread optimisation, collateralised lending structures, swaps, and cross-guarantee facilities while promoting cross-asset solutions across bullion, FX, and related products.
- Operations & Risk Management: Oversee end-to-end bullion trade lifecycle management including execution, settlement, vault reconciliation, delivery logistics, and operational risk controls.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor regional sales, trading, and operations teams while fostering strong collaboration across front office, operations, technology, and compliance functions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline; CFA or relevant professional qualifications advantageous.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience within bullion, commodities, FX, or other precious metals trading environments.
- Strong understanding of Singapore PSPM regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and MAS regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record in building APAC client relationships and growing regional commodities or bullion businesses.
- Experience across physical bullion operations, structured financing, and trade lifecycle management.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial acumen.
- Familiarity with trading platforms, bullion operations systems, and process automation initiatives preferred.
