An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate in Financial and Regulatory Reporting to join a leading financial institution in Singapore on a one-year renewable contract. What You'll Do

As an Associate Financial and Regulatory Reporting professional based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted role that spans daily accounting operations, regulatory submissions, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation.

  • Prepare day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations with precision and timeliness.
  • Take ownership of regulatory reporting activities by ensuring statutory and regulatory reports are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Complete month-end closing activities such as amortisation of prepayments and raising necessary journal entries to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Monitor, review, and post monthly accruals for expenditure items while handling queries related to expenditure accounting with care and diligence.
  • Review provision accounts regularly to clear provision or suspense accounts efficiently, maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
  • Maintain the accounts payable ledger by recording transactions accurately and ensuring timely payments to vendors, supporting seamless business operations.
  • Reconcile accounts payable accounts by investigating discrepancies thoroughly and resolving issues collaboratively with vendors and internal departments.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns as well as income and expenditure reports to regulatory authorities in accordance with local requirements.
  • Coordinate head office reporting by working closely with regional finance teams to align accounting practices with group policies and international standards such as IFRS.
  • Build positive working relationships with stakeholders including business units, auditors, regulators, local management, and global finance teams through effective communication.
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvements by contributing ideas for automation and efficiency enhancements within finance processes.
  • Support other finance-related tasks or projects as assigned, including ad hoc reporting and analysis that contribute to overall departmental success.

What You Bring

To excel as an Associate Financial and Regulatory Reporting specialist, your background should reflect solid academic credentials in accounting or finance combined with hands-on experience managing core accounting functions within regulated environments.

  • A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field provides you with the foundational knowledge required for this role.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in accounting ensures you can handle complex financial tasks confidently from day one.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications-especially Excel and Word-enables you to manage data efficiently while being comfortable navigating IT systems.
  • Previous exposure to regulatory reporting requirements for Capital Markets Services License (CMSL) holders demonstrates your understanding of compliance obligations within Singapore's financial sector.
  • A sound grasp of both local Singaporean accounting standards as well as international frameworks such as IFRS allows you to operate seamlessly across jurisdictions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with numerical accuracy ensures all reports are reliable and error-free under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills empower you to interact positively with colleagues at all levels as well as external stakeholders like auditors or regulators.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities mean you work well within teams-sharing knowledge generously while adapting flexibly when priorities shift or new challenges arise.
  • Eligibility to work in Singapore without visa sponsorship is essential for this position.
