Job Description

AML Specialist (Contract Convertible to Permanent)

Our client, a well-established securities firm with a multi-asset platform, is looking to fill AML Specialist to support its financial crime compliance function. This role provides broad exposure across capital markets products and offers a strong potential for conversion to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end KYC/CDD/EDD processes for individual and institutional clients, including higher-risk and complex cases
  • Review and approve onboarding files, periodic reviews, and trigger events in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations
  • Oversee transaction monitoring alerts, sanctions screening, and adverse news reviews, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of suspicious activities
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and MAS AML/CFT guidelines
  • Prepare and review Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and liaise with relevant authorities where required
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, regulatory queries, and inspections
  • Support the enhancement of AML frameworks, policies, and internal controls in line with evolving regulatory expectations
  • Partner closely with front office, operations, and legal teams to provide advisory on AML risks and controls
  • Drive remediation exercises, data quality initiatives, and regulatory-driven projects
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members where required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline
  • 48 years of relevant AML/KYC experience within a securities firm, brokerage, or financial institution
  • Strong working knowledge of MAS regulations and the Securities and Futures Act (SFA)
  • Familiarity with AML systems, transaction monitoring tools, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
