Job Responsibilities :

The Analytics Engineer Intern will support the Big Data team in building and maintaining the organization's analytics layer to ensure reliable, scalable, and well-documented datasets for business use.

Working under guidance from the Data Analytics Manager and senior team members, the intern will assist in developing dbt models, supporting Airflow workflows, and
maintaining Apache Superset dashboards. This role provides hands-on exposure to modern analytics engineering practices, bridging raw data pipelines and business-ready insights.

The intern will gain practical experience transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets while contributing to real production workflows that support 200+ business users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assistin developing and maintainingdbtmodels to transform raw data into structured, analytics-ready datasets.

  • Support implementation of testing and documentation standards withindbt.

  • HelpoptimizeSQL queries for performance and scalability.

  • Assistin monitoring andmaintainingAirflow workflows.

  • Help troubleshoot data pipeline issues under supervision.

  • Build andmaintaindashboards in Apache Superset under guidance.

  • Work closely with analytics engineers, data engineers,datascientistsand business stakeholders.

  • Support ad hoc analytical requests using existing data models.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong foundational knowledge of SQL.

  • Basic understanding of data modeling concepts.

  • Familiarity withdbt, workflow tools (e.g., Airflow), or cloud data platforms (Redshift, Snowflake,BigQuery) is a plus.

  • Exposure to BI tools (Superset, Tableau, Power BI, Looker) isadvantageous.

  • Basic understanding of AI tools and their application in enhancing productivity.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to debugging and validation.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Eagerness to learn modern analytics engineering best practices.

Learning Objectivesand Outcomes

  • Gain hands-on experience building and testingdbtmodels.

  • Understand how Airflow orchestrates production data workflows.

  • Learn best practices in analytics engineering (documentation, version control, testing).

  • Build production-level dashboards in Apache Superset.

  • Develop the ability to translate business requirements into technical data models.

  • Gain exposure to large-scale data environments supporting multiple applications and business stakeholders.

  • Develop skills in using AI tools to enhance data analysis and support employee tasks.
