The Role
As an Analytical Chemist, you're a key member of our Research & Development team, ensuring the integrity and performance of our advanced materials and authentication technologies. Working closely with chemists and engineers, you'll bridge research and product development - from characterising novel materials to validating quality standards. You'll work on:
- Characterising advanced optical and functional materials using UV-Vis, Fluorescence, NMR, FTIR, GC/HPLC, and Mass Spectrometry
- Preparing and processing test samples using appropriate techniques to ensure they are fit-for-analysis
- Developing, optimising, and validating analytical methods to support R&D and quality assurance workflows
- Conducting QC testing on materials and finished products to ensure they meet defined specifications before handover to Product Development
- Supporting product trials and production runs, including occasional on-site engagement locally and internationally
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Prior experience in a laboratory or chemical industry setting
- Proficiency with analytical instrumentation: UV-Vis, Fluorescence, NMR, FTIR, GC/HPLC, and/or Mass Spectrometry
- Competency in sample preparation across diverse material types and matrices
- Ability to apply statistical reasoning to analytical data - e.g. calibration curves, measurement uncertainty, and outlier assessment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and communicate data clearly
- Good communication skills comfortable collaborating across R&D and product-facing teams
