Job Description

Join a global leader in digital solutions for smart shipping, delivering cutting-edge technologies for fuel monitoring, vessel performance, emissions tracking, regulatory compliance, and weather routing. Seeking an experienced Weather Routing Lead Analyst to support their Fleet Monitoring Center and contribute to optimizing vessel performance and safety at sea.

This is an ashore role based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collect operational data (vessel tracking, SatComs, characteristics, constraints) 7224 hours prior to departure.

* Generate optimized routes and speed recommendations using advanced weather routing software.

* Deliver accurate meteorological and oceanographic forecasts and assist captains in voyage planning.

* Provide remote support to vessels during voyages, particularly in adverse weather conditions.

* Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and adherence to recommended routes.

* Establish post-voyage reports, analyzing forecast vs. actual conditions and advising on claims when necessary.

* Liaise directly with captains, offering real-time support and expert navigation advice.

* Contribute feedback on routing software and operational processes to support continuous improvement.

Requirement:-

* **Sea Experience:**

  • Minimum 2 years as Officer of the Watch or Navigation officer including passage planning.
  • Officer of the Watch on Transoceanic vessels during 2 years at least (TransAtlantic, TransPacific crossings)
  • Practical use of weather routing softwares or services
  • Rough seas navigation strong feedback

**Preferred:**

  • Experience in a Weather Routing or Operational Monitoring Center.
  • Background as officer on LNG, gas carriers, tankers, container vessels, bulk carriers, or passenger ships.
  • Experience as Chief Mate or Second Officer & above would be an added advantage
  • Exposure to polar navigation.
  • Certified studies in meteorology or oceanography.
  • Experience providing onsite technical support to maritime companies.
  • Familiarity with operational and seakeeping software.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, and data visualization tools.

**Personal Attributes:**

  • Strong attention to captain requirements and contract adherence.
  • Ability to initiate direct contact with vessels (e.g., satellite phone) when deviations occur.
  • Calm and professional demeanor under stress and challenging sea conditions.
  • Commitment to impartial reporting of any incidents or communication challenges.
  • Analytical mindset for post-voyage data interpretation and claim support.
  • Curiosity and initiative to enhance analysis with external data sources.
  • Proactive in suggesting IT/software improvements.
  • Passion for delivering reliable advice to captains at all times.
  • Strong documentation and feedback writing skills.
