Overview:
We are looking for a technically skilled and self-driven Analyst to join our team. This role focuses on managing mission-critical systems hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and driving feature development for our internal Alchemy platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in backend engineering, cloud infrastructure management, and a proactive mindsetparticularly with a willingness to explore and learn emerging areas like Generative AI (GenAI) application development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Google Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Operate, monitor, and maintain core applications hosted on GCP with a focus on high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Ensure infrastructure is secure, resilient, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
- Handle routine and emergency data backup and restoration procedures.
- Regularly review and update security configurations and IAM policies.
- Perform business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) drills, including full infrastructure rebuilds.
2. Data Engineering & Automation
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to support analytics and business operations.
- Develop and manage cron jobs (primarily GCP Cloud Functions) for scheduled automation tasks.
- Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources to support decision-making and reporting needs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize data flows and job scheduling to minimize downtime and failures.
3. Alchemy Platform Development
- Develop new backend features and enhancements for the Alchemy internal platform based on user requirements.
- Upgrade and maintain existing functionality, ensuring stability and code quality.
- Test new releases systematically and manage production deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate with external vendors for integrations or support.
4. Continuous Improvement & Emerging Technologies
- Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to explore and learn GenAI application development, with opportunities to prototype and implement AI-driven features in internal systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate or improve system performance, developer experience, and infrastructure reliability.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Full-Stack Developer with a backend focus. Prior relevant internship experience could be considered.
- Strong command of SQL for querying and manipulating structured datasets.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (preferably Python).
- Solid understanding of software development best practices, testing, and version control (e.g., Git).
- Practical experience deploying and managing cloud systems in GCP and/or AWS.
Bonus:
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools; Terraform experience is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments is highly desirable.
- Google Cloud or AWS certifications (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer, Solutions Architect)
- Experience in technology risk management (TRM), audit processes, or cybersecurity frameworks
- Basic understanding of frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) and how backend services integrate with UI components.
