Main Responsibilities:
- Act as Maker for end-to-end trade finance processing of Singapore and Hong Kong Trade Finance activities (SG & HK TFBO). The activities include processing of: Import LC issuances, amendments, acceptances, payments etc. Export LC advising, confirmation, negotiation, acceptance, negotiation, discounting, payment and reimbursement claim. Guarantees including shipping guarantees, bid and performance bonds, Drawee risks, Bank Refinancing and Risks Participations.
- Ensure smooth and efficient execution of BAUs relating to trade finance SG & HK TFBO activities within the specified time frame and cutoff time for the transactions.
- Ensure all trade finance transactions are duly handled and processed in accordance with the relevant procedure manual, rules and regulations.
- Perform KYC validation and Anti-money Laundering Checks on trade finance transactions processed by the Team.
- Input trade finance transactions into Trade Finance processing system and generate entries and customer advices including swift payment, send emails/faxes to customer, matching swift messages, photocopy of documents and filing duties.
- Participate in the bank's digitalization and other initiatives/projects relating to the job scope of the team.
- Participate in Business Continuity Plan (BCP) of the Bank in accordance with the BCP procedures and processes.
- Escalate to team leaders, team head or Head, Trade Finance Operations for any exception, problem, error and abnormal transaction identified during processing.
- All other job duties as and when assigned by team leaders, team head or Head, Trade Finance Support Services.
Required Skills:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Trade Finance Operations & knowledge of Trade Finance products & processes including but not limited to Import and Export Letters of Credit (LC) & documents bills processing.
- Familiarity with documents checking skills (preferably with CDCS) and exposure of commodity trade LC documents is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of ICC rules and practices with good knowledge of latest version of UCP/ISBP/ISP.
- Good understanding of trade finance due diligence/AML/sanction checks requirements.
- Proficiency in SWIFT messaging and Trade finance processing systems such as Trade Innovation Plus is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to ensure accuracy.
- Good team player with positive attitude and willingness to participate in process improvement, digitalization and business continuity initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast - paced, high volume operational environment and manage competing priorities.
- Must be available to work during Singapore public holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. work, excel, powerpoint).
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
