AML QA Analyst (Corporate Banking)
Our client, a well-established bank is seeking to fill an AML QA Analyst role for their Corporate Banking
- Provide AML/KYC advisory and conduct second-level reviews of complex corporate ownership structures, including funds and trusts, as well as related transactions.
- Perform independent quality assurance reviews of KYC, CDD and EDD cases across corporate, individual and financial institution clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Review account activities and transactions, including trade transactions, to assess customer behaviour and ensure unusual or potentially suspicious activities are properly identified, documented and escalated.
- Partner with Front Office stakeholders to resolve case-related queries and promote consistent application of KYC requirements and quality standards.
- Manage QA reviews across an assigned portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Analyse QA findings to identify recurring deficiencies, root causes, thematic risks and opportunities for control or process improvements.
- Maintain complete, accurate and auditable QA records, findings and supporting documentation in accordance with governance and record-retention requirements.
- Periodically assess the parameters and thresholds applied within CDD risk-rating, transaction-monitoring and name-screening systems.
- Support FATCA and CRS reporting to IRAS.
- Assist with the preparation and review of the Enterprise-Wide AML/CFT Risk Assessment.
- Review MAS regulations and industry best-practice papers, perform gap analyses, and enhance AML/CFT policies and procedures accordingly.
- Monitor new and revised sanctions regulations, assess their impact and support the implementation of required controls.
- Deliver AML/CFT training, including induction programmes covering KYC and transaction monitoring.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly AML reports for management and Head Office.
- Coordinate with IT on system issues, enhancements and other AML-related projects.
- Support transaction-monitoring alert reviews, AML investigations, regulatory surveys, audit requests, statistics, AML reporting and the preparation or submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports.
- Keep abreast of developments in money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, regulatory requirements, criminal typologies and industry practices.
- Perform other AML, compliance and process-improvement duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of experience in financial services, including at least five years in KYC/CDD reviews involving corporate, trust and fund structures.
- Practical experience in transaction monitoring or AML investigations, sanctions compliance and complex case reviews.
- Exposure to project management, system implementation or AML technology enhancements.
- Degree in Banking, Finance, Law, Accounting, Business, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Relevant ACAMS or ICA certification.
- Sound knowledge of MAS Notice 626, its accompanying guidelines, industry best-practice papers, sanctions requirements and AML/CFT regulations.
- Strong analytical and investigative capabilities, with sound risk judgement and attention to detail.
