Job Description

Brief Summary

Join a dynamic team to lead initiatives in pricing models and portfolio management within the Property & Casualty insurance domain. This role offers the opportunity to drive business growth through strategic relationships and innovative product development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leaders and assist in developing, reviewing, and enhancing pricing models while establishing market pricing. Underwrite and maintain a profitable portfolio in Property & Casualty insurance. Manage technical portfolio oversight and implement remediation strategies for portfolios that are underperforming. Assist in setting acceptable pricing and terms for new business and renewals, ensuring adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines. Coordinate account management processes, loss control activities, and track major claims to maintain an acceptable loss ratio. Evaluate reinsurance requirements and ensure efficient coordination within underwriting and risk control parameters. Support product development initiatives and facilitate successful launches for business penetration. Drive efforts to strengthen account relationships for both new and existing businesses. Conduct analyses of territories and distribution channels to optimize resource allocation for profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance underwriting with a strong focus on direct intermediary engagement and technical underwriting. Comprehensive knowledge of insurance operations, underwriting practices, and policy wording. Solid understanding of risk assessment, related legislation, and laws specific to the general insurance industry. Proven experience in leading a small team effectively.
