About the role
The Retail Supervisor acts as the Changi Airport expert, overseeing daily operations and driving the overall success of the location. This role serves as the key liaison between the Retail team and airport retail partners, ensuring sales targets are met, brand image and service levels are consistently upheld, and providing continuous support. The Retail Supervisor also leads and manages the retail team.
Responsibilities
GROW & DRIVE THE BUSINESS
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and support corporate objectives.
- Lead and motivate the retail team to meet store and individual goals.
- Optimize store operations, ensure compliance, and resolve issues effectively.
- Manage performance using key metrics and provide regular updates to the Area Manager.
- Oversee stock, promotions, and shift planning while supporting incentive and action plans.
CAPABILITY: DRIVE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and escalate stock issues promptly.
- Improve inventory cycle performance, availability, and allocation.
- Support Retail, Commercial, and Marketing teams in new store openings.
- Escalate critical operational issues and collaborate on timely resolutions.
- Ensure strong execution to meet operational and financial goals.
TALENT MANAGEMENT
- Support recruitment, retention, and daily management of the retail team.
- Provide daily briefings and maintain strong on-ground presence.
- Communicate corporate goals and ensure alignment.
- Coach and develop staff with trainers to enhance skills and performance.
- Lead by example with strong personal sales and adherence to SOPs.
BRAND IMAGE, MARKETING & VM STANDARDS
- Ensure consistent brand presentation, cleanliness, planogramming, and in-store activation standards.
- Monitor retail team grooming, selling skills, and product knowledge.
- Support marketing campaigns and visual merchandising execution.
- Provide post-campaign feedback and report POSM or tester issues.
- Maintain proper display standards and ensure full stock availability on shelves.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of retail experience; minimum 2 years of management experience, preferably in luxury industry
- Travel Retail experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to quickly analyze key business metrics, and results to identify performance improvement opportunities, and recommend meaningful solutions
- Sound understanding of optimization of store operations & standards for success
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build effective business partnerships
- Strong in leadership and in people management,
- Experience in managing effective teams
