Airfreight Import Assistant Manager (Cargowise/ Customer Service/ Billing)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the leadership, coaching, and development of the Airfreight Import Customer Service team to ensure efficient handling of end-to-end import processes.

• Oversee daily import operations, including shipment documentation, coordination with carriers, customs compliance, billing, and job closure, while ensuring adherence to established procedures and service standards.

• Identify operational gaps and assist in driving process improvements to enhance overall workflow efficiency.

• Monitor team performance against SLAs and KPIs, provide constructive feedback, and escalate issues to the Manager when necessary.

• Manage complex import-related inquiries and act as an escalation point for customer service issues when required.

• Work closely with Airfreight Operations, Customs, and other internal teams to ensure seamless execution of import shipments.

• Assist in the development and implementation of customer service policies, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Supervisory experience in airfreight import customer service or operations.

• Strong understanding of airfreight import processes, documentation, and customs requirements.

• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to support operational improvements.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage team and customer interactions.

• Ability to motivate staff and ensure consistent service quality.

• Previous hands-on experience using Cargowise system
