AIRCON TECHNICIAN

(RAC) Engineer designs, installs, maintains, and repairs commercial, industrial, and domestic cooling systems.

They troubleshoot electrical/mechanical faults, manage refrigerants, and ensure systems operate efficiently according to safety and environmental regulations.

Key tasks include reading technical drawings, pipefitting, and optimizing energy performance.

Installing new HVAC/R units (split, ducted, VRF, chillers), pipework, and electrical components.

Performing routine inspections, diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing or replacing faulty components (compressors, condensers, fans).

Adjusting systems to improve energy efficiency, retrofitting systems with eco-friendly refrigerants, and ensuring environmental compliance.

Keeping detailed maintenance logs, conducting leak tests, and adhering to strict health and safety standards.

Designing layouts, estimating project costs, and managing inventory for repairs.
