Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Import Assistant Manager / Manager to lead the Import department, overseeing both Import Customer Service and Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth end-to-end import shipment execution, high service standards, and operational efficiency while supporting Sales teams and Global MNC accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Air Import Department (Operations and Customer Service) in daily shipment arrangements
• Build and maintain a strong team culture with good discipline and a positive work attitude
• Enhance the team's knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities through training and coaching
• Coordinate with customers and agents for shipping arrangements and documentations
• Streamline import operational processes and establish standard procedures for efficiency
• Prepare management reports, operations analysis reports, and other reporting requirements from management
• Facilitate and maintain relationships with vendors and partners, including negotiating contracts, setting standards, and sourcing the best vendors
• Handle cargo claims cases and ensure proper reporting
• Monitor accounts receivable collection and manage risk control for local customer credit
• Fully utilize in-house systems to optimize sales management, operational efficiency, and data integration
• Ensure KPIs are met, including on-time billing and inter-company cost approval during month-end closing
• Other assignment as and when assign by the management

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding import operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong hands-on knowledge of import operations (air freight preferred)
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
