The Opportunity

In EY, we implement information-driven strategies, data platforms and advanced data analytics solution systems that help grow, optimize and protect client organizations. We go beyond strategy and provide end to end design, build and implementation of real life data environments and have some of the best architects, project managers, business analysts, data scientists, big data engineers, developers and consultants in the region.

We are seeking a AI Senior Manager to lead advanced research and development in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), while managing high-performing teams to deliver innovative AI solutions. This role combines technical expertise, thought leadership, and people management to drive AI strategy, research, and implementation across business-critical domains.

Responsibilities

1. Define and drive the AI research and innovation roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
2. Lead and mentor a team of AI scientists, data scientists, and ML engineers.
3. Plan and lead the development of new and advanced data analytic techniques, methodologies and analytical solutions from design, prototyping, and testing
4. Identify and develop core data and AI science components for the delivery of projects, architect specialised database and computing environments, explore and visualise complex data set to provide incremental business value
5. Partner with executives, product leaders, and business stakeholders to translate opportunities into AI-driven solutions
6. Extract and integrate data from various sources, and create advanced models and algorithms suitable for the business use case
7. Conduct testing on data and AI models, interprets findings from testing, and evaluates model performance for scaling and deployment
8. Work in a team setting and apply proficient in statistics, scripting and programming languages required by the firm
9. Work with relevant software platforms on which the solution is deployed
10. Stay ahead of AI trends and represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and publications
11. Design, prototype, and validate novel AI/ML algorithms in areas such as deep learning, NLP, computer vision, generative AI, and reinforcement learning
12. Oversee the development of production-grade ML pipelines in collaboration with engineering teams
13. Ensure scalability, reliability, and ethical use of AI systems
14. Guide the evaluation of open-source frameworks, cloud-native AI services, and proprietary research
15. Oversee the lifecycle of AI initiatives: ideation, research, prototyping, deployment, and monitoring
16. Establish best practices for MLOps, model governance, and responsible AI
17. Track project performance and deliver results on time and within scope
18. Foster collaboration across functions (engineering, product, operations, compliance)

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
2. Minimally 6 years in AI/ML roles, with at least 3-5 years in leadership/management.
3. Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and applied AI research.
4. Hands-on experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, MLflow.
5. Expertise in at least one domain: NLP/LLMs, computer vision, recommender systems, generative AI, reinforcement learning.
6. Familiarity with cloud AI platforms (Azure ML, AWS Sagemaker, Google Vertex AI).
7. Knowledge of data engineering and scalable computing frameworks (Spark, Databricks, Ray, Kubernetes).
8. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
9. Previous experience in consulting/professional services industries
