Job Description

Leveraging Sony's world-leading sensor technology, Pentas Vision is committed to advancing the deep integration of AI and imaging systems. We are looking for a motivated AI researcher intern to support research and development in image enhancement and next-generation sensor algorithms. This role is ideal for students eager to gain hands-on experience with modern imaging technologies and AI-based image restoration techniques.


What you will be doing

  • Support the research and development of image enhancement algorithms, including denoising, deblurring, super-resolution, low-light enhancement, and HDR.

  • Explore and evaluate state-of-the-art AI models, including diffusion-based and deep learning-based restoration methods.

  • Assist in prototyping and validating algorithms for advanced image sensor concepts.

  • Perform experiments, analyze results, and prepare technical summaries and visualizations of image quality improvements.

  • Work with real sensor data to test algorithms and contribute to proof-of-concept (PoC) development.

  • Collaborate with the team to support integration and testing of imaging algorithms in larger system pipelines.


What you should have

  • Bachelor's degree or above (ongoing or completed) in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), or a related engineering major.

  • Strong interest in image processing, computer vision, or AI-driven imaging applications.

  • Basic programming skills in Python, with familiarity in common ML or CV libraries.

  • Curiosity to explore new algorithms, run experiments, and understand image quality evaluation.

  • Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to document findings clearly.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow).

  • Experience with any imaging-related coursework or projects (e.g., super-resolution, denoising, HDR, low-light enhancement).

  • Familiarity with modern image sensor concepts or computational photography is a plus.

  • Interest in diffusion models, generative AI, or modern image restoration research.


Key Assignment & Projects (Internal reference for school internships only):

Contribute to AI-driven image enhancement research by experimenting with state-of-the-art restoration models and advanced sensor data to support proof-of-concept algorithm development.
