Job Description

This is an in-person role, based in Singapore.

Open to local students, and overseas students who qualify for Singapore's Work Holiday Pass — available to university students and graduates from Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

This is not a shadowing internship

A&GEL — the AI platform we built with one of Singapore's top law firms — is going to market, and we're looking for a small, hand-picked group of exceptional students to help us build it. You'll own real product, ship to real clients, and move at the pace of a company that's scaling fast. If you want a relaxed semester, this isn't it. If you want to find out how good you actually are, keep reading.

About PAND.AI

PAND.AI builds and deploys enterprise conversational and agentic AI for regulated industries across Singapore and Malaysia — banks, insurers, and law firms that can't compromise on security or accuracy. A&GEL, our legal AI platform co-developed with Allen & Gledhill, runs on-premise over confidential matter files and is now being commercialised for the wider legal market. We're OSPAR-audited, ISO 27001-certified, and an IMDA-approved GenAI vendor. We're small, senior, and we ship.

What product engineering means here

We don't hire coding monkeys. As a product engineer you own problems end-to-end — not tickets. That means:

•     Take a real A&GEL problem from ambiguity to shipped feature, in front of real legal clients

•     Design the UX yourself — decide how it should work and feel, then build it

•     Write production-grade Python that holds up in a regulated environment

•     Prototype fast, put it in front of users, and iterate on what you learn

•     Think about why we're building something, not just how — and push back when we're wrong

Who thrives here

You're a final-year undergraduate, or a graduate from the last 12 months, with a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics — a rigorous quantitative foundation is non-negotiable. Beyond that:

•     Exceptional at Python — you build real things, fast, and your code is clean

•     You learn faster than we can teach you; you figure things out on your own

•     You think critically — you interrogate the problem before you touch the solution

•     You have genuine product instinct — you care how something feels to use, not just whether it runs

•     You're ambitious and intense — you want a high-pressure, entrepreneurial environment, and you'll outwork the room to win

•     You're here to grow, not to coast

What you'll get

•     Six months where you'll ship more than most engineers do in their first two years

•     You'll come out bilingual in AI and law — fluent in how frontier AI is built and in how one of the most demanding professions actually works

•     Direct mentorship from the founder and senior engineers — no layers, no busywork

•     Work alongside some of the best and most senior lawyers in Singapore — the kind of access most people never get

•     A monthly stipend; overseas interns who qualify for Singapore's Work Holiday Pass receive an additional housing allowance to help with living costs

•     A real shot at a full-time offer — our strongest interns are invited to stay

Where our interns go next

We invest seriously in the people we take on, and it shows in where they end up. Past PAND.AI interns have:

•     Founded their own companies

•     Been named to Forbes 30 Under 30

•     Been accepted into Y Combinator

•     Gone on to BCG, Citi, Meta, and VC-funded startups
