AI Platform Engineering Lead

Role Overview
Own the end-to-end development of our AI platform from model registry and visual workflow builder to AI agent orchestration and enterprise deployment. You will lead engineering, drive product direction, and grow our open-source community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead platform engineering team to deliver model registry, workflow builder, and orchestration components
- Own technical architecture, roadmap, and build-vs-buy decisions
- Manage GPU infrastructure, cloud integrations, and platform reliability
- Grow open-source community maintain GitHub repos, review contributions, drive adoption
- Support enterprise pilots and translate customer requirements into platform capabilities
- Collaborate with industry partners, startups, and customers on pilots and prototypes.
- Build joint research programs with universities and open-source communities.
- Publish and present work at leading AI conferences; represent Xfusion at public forums.
- Contribute to strategy and technology roadmaps for Xfusion's Open lab.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in AI R&D, including 35 years leading teams.
- Track record shipping production platforms (B2B SaaS, developer tools, or AI infrastructure)
- Deep experience with AI/ML infrastructure: model serving, training pipelines, GPUs
- Strong Kubernetes and cloud-native background
- Experience building or contributing to open-source projects
- Understanding of enterprise requirements: SSO, compliance, security
- Strong communication skills for engaging both open source community and enterprise clients.
Preferred
- LLM application development (RAG, agents, fine-tuning)
- Presentations at global conferences.
- Background in open-source or cross-institution collaboration.
