As an AI Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing and deploying enterprise-grade software platforms that operationalise Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI solutions across a national housing agency.
Working alongside AI Engineers, Data Scientists and business stakeholders, you will build scalable, secure and cloud-native applications that enable AI capabilities to deliver tangible business value.
You will be involved in the design and implementation of modern AI-powered platforms, full-stack applications, APIs and reusable engineering frameworks that accelerate AI adoption while ensuring high standards of software quality, security and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain scalable, production-grade full-stack applications, backend services, APIs and web platforms supporting enterprise AI and data products.
- Build AI-enabled applications by integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, AI agents and orchestration frameworks into enterprise software solutions.
- Collaborate closely with AI Engineers and Data Scientists to operationalise machine learning and Generative AI models into robust, production-ready applications.
- Develop responsive frontend applications and secure backend services with seamless integration across enterprise systems and cloud platforms.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, authentication mechanisms, data access layers and system integrations to support business-critical applications.
- Build cloud-native applications using modern architectures and engineering practices, leveraging services across AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), containerisation and Kubernetes-based deployments to support reliable software delivery.
- Develop reusable software components, engineering frameworks, developer tools and internal libraries that improve development productivity and standardise AI solution delivery.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise deployed applications to ensure system reliability, scalability, security, availability and operational performance.
- Evaluate emerging software engineering, cloud and AI technologies, recommending new tools, frameworks and best practices that strengthen HDB's AI engineering capabilities.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews and Agile delivery activities while promoting engineering excellence across the team.
- Produce technical documentation, implementation guides and operational procedures to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns and clean coding principles.
- Hands-on experience developing enterprise full-stack applications using Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.
- Experience developing frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, authentication services, backend integrations and database-driven applications.
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Good understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automated testing and modern software deployment methodologies.
- Experience implementing AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings and AI agent frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working in cross-functional teams comprising Software Engineers, AI Engineers, Data Scientists and business users.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments using modern engineering and DevSecOps practices will be highly advantageous.
