Job Summary
The mission of this job is to lead the development and integration of Agentic AI to accelerate product development with the help of Modeling and Simulations. Developed AI tools will disseminate Modeling and Simulation capabilities within the company and hence provide a strong platform to competitively position in the market. The Lead AI Engineer will build Agentic AI and ML surrogates that automate simulation workflows, generate synthetic data at scale, deliver instant simulation predictions, and enable inverse design.
Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end workflows to automate Modeling & Simulation steps through an agentic AI interface, enhancing efficiency and scalability
- Design and implement frameworks to generate large, labeled synthetic datasets from automated parametric sweeps and Design of Experiments (DOE) plans, preparing data for rapid Machine Learning experimentation
- Select and develop machine learning surrogate models tailored to Entegris products to provide instant simulation estimates that replace full physics runs
- Develop inverse design methodologies that convert customer specifications into optimized design candidates using surrogate models
- Deliver measurable time savings by reducing workflow durations from days to minutes for at least one workflow, validating results against experimental data with 90% accuracy
- Communicate technical results and proposals effectively to engineering and management teams, influencing decision-making and strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI-driven solutions into existing product development pipelines
- Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment, supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning techniques relevant to engineering data, including regression-based surrogate modeling and neural networks such as CNNs and GNNs applied to geometry or field data
- Proven experience in preparing simulation data for rapid ML experimentation and developing surrogate models for instant predictions
- Hands-on experience designing agentic AI systems or complex AI-driven workflows involving multi-step goal-oriented task execution and orchestration of multiple specialized components (agents, tools, APIs)
- Strong foundation in physics-based Modeling & Simulation with expert-level proficiency in CFD and FEM simulations using tools such as Ansys, Comsol, Abaqus, and/or open-source tools like openFoam
- Proficiency in Python, C, and C++ for developing simulation software APIs and managing large simulation output datasets
- Experience validating AI/ML outputs against experimental or trusted reference data to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Experience developing or applying inverse design methods to optimize engineering designs
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with personnel across various experience levels and backgrounds
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Applied Physics
- Domain knowledge in multiphysics, multiphase, and porous flow phenomena to enhance modeling accuracy and relevance
All Successful candidates can expect a very competitive remuneration package and a comprehensive range of benefits.
