Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning & Product Launch:

  • Develop and maintain Quality Plans for new products and product modifications, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project timelines.
  • Drive flawless product launches through effective quality planning and risk management.

Risk Analysis & Continuous Improvement:

  • Facilitate design, tooling, assembly, and process reviews.
  • Lead and support DFMEA/PFMEA reviews using lessons learned, historical quality data, and critical analysis.
  • Review and approve reliability test plans.

Metrology & Product Qualification:

  • Develop measurement plans and inspection methods for new and modified products.
  • Lead First Off Tool (FOT) and product qualification activities.
  • Manage gauges and inspection fixtures.
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA), capability studies, and statistical analysis to support process and tooling qualification.

Manufacturing & Process Validation:

  • Partner with Manufacturing AQP/QE teams to conduct Safe Launch activities.
  • Perform process audits and reverse FMEA exercises to validate new production processes.
  • Ensure adherence to documented control plans.

Customer & Supplier Quality:

  • Ensure completion of all customer-required quality documentation for product approvals.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation for new and modified components.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure supplier compliance.

Problem Solving:

  • Lead problem-solving activities using 8D methodology for customer and internal quality issues during product launch.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring quality issues and improve development processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering or a similar engineering role
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Good understanding of dimensional measurement techniques and GD&T principles
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or equivalent software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Advanced Quality Planning methodologies such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Lean Six Sigma, and reliability testing
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) or product launch activities
  • Hands-on experience applying quality planning tools and risk assessment methodologies
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, plating, testing, and assembly
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949
  • Experience in supplier quality management and auditing activities
