Job Description

Job Title: Inventory Clerk

Job Summary

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring proper storage and distribution of materials or products. This role plays a key part in supporting warehouse, retail, or production operations by ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials

  • Verify shipments against purchase orders and invoices

  • Organize and store inventory in designated areas

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory management systems

  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts

  • Identify discrepancies and report inventory shortages or damages

  • Prepare and process orders for shipment or internal distribution

  • Label, tag, and track stock items

  • Maintain a clean and organized storage area

  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, or retail preferred

  • Basic math and record-keeping skills

  • Familiarity with inventory software or ERP systems (e.g., Excel, SAP, or similar systems)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (as required)

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

  • May work in warehouse, retail, or office environments

  • Standing, bending, and lifting may be required

  • May require flexible hours depending on operational needs
