Job Description

We are looking for a freelance Adaptation Artist, whose role is focused on the evolving post-production workflows through expertise, automation and collaborative problem-solving. This position is responsible for efficiently adapting creative assets using Adobe After Effects and other Creative Suite tools, with a strong emphasis on designing and implementing automated solutions, templates and scripts (using After Effects Expressions and scripting languages like Java Script).

Beyond hands on editing, the Adaptation Artist drives efficiency, streamlines processes, provides technical support and actively contributes to the development and training of the wider editing team, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of assets.

This role is currently a freelance role on an adhoc basis depending on project needs.

What You'll Do

  • Adapting creative assets and building templates for automation using Adobe After Effects
  • Serve as an expert on After Effects work and provide support to the global team
  • Solid knowledge in JavaScript, Google Apps Script and Adobe After Effects Expressions
  • Propose and co-create automation solutions using scripting and expressions to streamline repetitive tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance efficiency across internal teams
  • Edit creative assets for adaptation using Adobe Creative Suite, conform and deliver them as per technical requirements
  • Conduct quality control (QC) to ensure materials meet client guidelines
  • Ensure accuracy of file naming conventions while maintaining an organized and clean folder structure
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise
  • Collaborate with team leads to develop new workflows, streamline & optimize processes from a technical standpoint
  • Some knowledge of other editing tools like Avid, Davinci Resolve is beneficial
  • Be a dependable team member in resolving technical inquiries and challenges
  • Monitor project status and progress, ensuring timely completion and delivery
  • Ensure accurate and timely time reporting across all platforms.

What You Need

  • 6-8 years of working experience in a post-production or similar professional editing environment.
  • Solid knowledge in JavaScript, Google Apps Script and Adobe After Effects Expressions.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a Media management/studies or relevant course
  • Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.
  • Strong understanding of post-production workflows and delivery standards.
  • Comfortable managing file structures, servers, and technical troubleshooting
  • Experience improving workflows, documenting processes, or supporting automation.
  • Ability to guide or train junior editors on tools and processes.
