Actuarial Intern

This program providesstudentsahands-onexperienceworking on practical actuarial and data analytics work within the Health Insurance Industry. Interns will be given exposureand guidanceto understand medical relatedinsurancedataused in actuarial pricing and reporting functions,which may include patientsocioeconomic data,claims data and healthcaretrends.The scope of work includes organising,validating, analysing, and presentingdata andbusiness insights tokey stakeholders, andsupport in product pricing and valuation reportingon ad hoc projects for automation, processimprovementand enhancements,ultimately providingaholisticunderstandingof the healthcare and health insurance industry.

Job Description

Design, enhance,automateand document various data and analytics processes to supportactuarialpricing and reporting functions.

This may include:

a) Actuarial pricing tools

b) Claims data and analysis processes

c) Reporting templates and submissions

c) Other ad hoc pricing and reporting functions asrequired

Qualifications

-Studentspursuing a degreein Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, DataAnalyticsor other related disciplines thatpossessesanalytical and quantitative components.

- Experience in product lines such as lifeand health insuranceproductswill be an advantage.

- Strong analytical skills,critical thinking, problem-solving skills, andattention to detail.

-Self-motivated andeager to learn,well-organised,independentand resourceful while driven to collaborate and contribute as a team player,positive work ethic.

- Familiarity andproficiencywith Microsoft Excel/Access, VBA, Python, R,SQLor other coding/data tools will be an advantage.
