Role Description

The Trainer delivers GAI101 as designed by Metacamp to cohorts of up to 30 adult learners

with no prior technical background, in a hands-on classroom setting. The Trainer is

responsible for learning outcomes, assessment integrity and the learner experience across the

three days, and works with the Course Coordinator on materials feedback and continuous

improvement.

Two tracks are open:

Lead Trainer: leads cohorts independently, including weekday enterprise cohorts.

Associate Trainer: co-delivers and assists on public cohorts while building classroom

hours, with a review for progression to Lead Trainer after two cohorts.

Courses Description (GAI101)

Curriculum: six modules covering large language models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini),

prompt engineering, AI harnesses (Claude Code, Codex), retrieval over documents,automation workflows, and a capstone in which each learner builds a working AI

workflow and a GitHub repository.

Approach: vendor-agnostic, hands-on, terminal-inclusive; concepts are taught in

plain language.

Materials: Metacamp provides slides, labs, sequence, assessment instruments and

rubrics. Trainers deliver the course as designed; proposed changes are routed

through the Course Coordinator.

Schedule: public cohorts on weekends; enterprise cohorts on weekdays. Cohorts run

from September to November 2026 and continuously thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery - Deliver all six modules across the three days in accordance with the approved

course design, lesson plans and timings.

- Facilitate hands-on labs, including harness set-up and the GitHub capstone, with a teaching assistant where cohort size warrants.

- Explain technical concepts in plain language suited to non-technical adult learners, and adapt pace and support to the weakest learner in the room without compromising the schedule.

- Manage classroom logistics: tool accounts, learner devices, common set-up failures and recovery.

Assessment - Administer the day-three written assessment and practical assessment under the required conditions.

- Grade against Metacamp's rubric; apply the working workflow standard consistently.

- Uphold assessment integrity, including identifying and handling copied or unoriginal work in line with Metacamp policy.

- Complete and submit assessment records accurately and on time.

Learner support and quality

- Provide in-class support and answer learner questions on tools and concepts.

- Collect learner feedback and report on it to the Course Coordinator after each cohort.

- Contribute observations and improvement proposals on materials, labs and sequencing.

Compliance and records - Maintain attendance and assessment records to the standard required of an SSG-approved course.

- Comply with Metacamp's policies on learner data (PDPA), materials use and confidentiality.

Onboarding - Observe one full cohort delivered by the Course Coordinator before leading or

Qualifications

  • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), or ACTA with current registration on the Training and Adult Education (TAE) register. Associate Trainer applicants with ACLP in progress will be considered with a stated completion date.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical adults, assessed in a live teach-back during selection.
  • Daily working use of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) in your own work.
  • Professional experience in data, analytics or AI at a recognised organisation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills to engage diverse groups of adult learners.
  • Ability to incorporate industry practices, case studies, and hands-on activities into training sessions to support applied learning.
  • Familiarity with AI, technology, or digital skills training is an advantage, along with a strong interest in future-focused education.
