We are seeking an experienced and hands-on professional to lead our Mechanical Access Control (MAC) division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from specification development and tender support through sales,project execution, client management, and operational leadership.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of door hardware, access control systems, ironmongery, and construction project management, together with the ability to manage stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and clients.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Manager to lead our Accounts Department and oversee the company's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing project billing and claims, coordinating audits and tax compliance, and driving continuous improvements in accounting processes and internal workflows. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of project accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project billing, progress claims, variation orders, collections, retention sums, payment process, revenue recognition and healthy cash flow.
  • Work closely with Project and Operations team to monitor project budgets, project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability.
  • Lead and manage the Accounts Department, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports. Analyse the company's financial performance and provide insights on profitability, cost control, and cash flow management.
  • Review and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and operational workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline finance and administrative processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the annual audit process and statutory tax filings, liaising with external auditors and tax agents, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Accounts team, including managing staff performance, training, and other personnel matters.
  • Support the Managing Director with financial planning activities, including cash flow management.
  • Perform any other finance and administrative duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of project based accounting, project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), progress claims, revenue recognition, and contract accounting
  • Experience in Sage Accpac accounting software will be an advantage
  • Proven experience leading and developing an accounting team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST, corporate tax, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
