The Role at a Glance:
As an Accounts Intern, you will be plugged into the reporting and controls side of Figment's finance function. Working directly with the Finance Lead, you'll support month-end close, internal management reporting, cash flow forecasting, audit preparation, and fixed asset management - meaningful work that gives you real exposure to how a growing hospitality business runs its numbers.
What You Will Do:
1.Month-End Close
- Assist with month-end journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany adjustments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and flag variances for review by the Finance Lead
- Support the timely close of books in Xero, ensuring entries are accurate and properly supported
- Help maintain the month-end close checklist and track completion status across workstreams
2. Internal Management Reporting
- Assist in compiling monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow summaries
- Prepare property-level performance reports to support operational decision-making
- Maintain and update reporting templates and dashboards used by the Finance Lead and leadership team
- Support variance analysis by pulling actuals, comparing against budget, and highlighting key movements
3.Audit Support
- Prepare audit schedules and organise supporting documentation for external audits
- Ensure financial records, reconciliations, and transaction trails are audit-ready
- Follow up on auditor queries and assist the Finance Lead in resolving open items
4.Cash Flow Forecasting
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the monthly cash flow forecast, tracking actuals against projections
- Help maintain rolling forecasts and assist with reforecasting as business conditions evolve
5.Fixed Asset Management
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register across Figment's shophouse portfolio
- Assist with physical verification of assets across properties
- Support capitalisation of fixed assets with correct classification and useful life assignment

- Genuinely curious about Singapore's built heritage and the co-living space
- The role demands strict confidentiality in managing sensitive finance information. An NDA must be signed prior to commencement and remains binding indefinitely. Any breach involving the external communication of financial information will be subject to legal recourse.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, or related programme
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Xero or similar accounting software is a plus
- Strong numerical aptitude and a high level of accuracy in data entry
- Available for a minimum internship duration of 3 months (6 months preferred)
- A strong interest in Singapore's heritage, architecture, and the co-living industry
