Hey Future Figment Family Member!

Ever dreamt of running the financial engine behind Singapore's most beautiful heritage homes Well, we did — and we're Figment, the rebels of hospitality, making the world a more human place to live.

Our boutique hotel-inspired homes have been called the Picassos of Singapore's Built Heritage by Travel + Leisure, with features in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Straits Times, and Channel NewsAsia. Over the past 35 years, we've welcomed more than 4,000 members from companies like Grab, BCG, and Citi.

What Makes This Role Different

• You own the numbers. Every dollar in and out across the Figment portfolio runs through you. The CEO makes capital, deal, and growth decisions off the picture you build — so your accuracy is the company's confidence.

• Accelerated growth. You'll take on real responsibility from day one in a hands-on, scrappy environment. As we expand the portfolio, you grow with us — clear progression and an ESOP / phantom-equity allocation on top of a 13th-month bonus.

• Global conservation mission. As stewards of Singapore's architectural heritage, we're pioneering the boutique homes concept globally — from London townhouses to Spanish Colonial homes in Intramuros, Manila, to colonial bungalows across India. The financial discipline you build here is what funds and protects irreplaceable buildings.

Role Purpose

You will own Figment's finance function end-to-end — keeping the books clean, the cash visible, and the business compliant across multiple entities. You'll lead a small offshore accounts team, close the month on time every time, and turn raw numbers into the insight the CEO needs to run and grow Figment.

We want someone obsessed with accuracy, with the rigour to enforce financial controls consistently and the judgment to turn data into decisions — not just reports. Above all, we want agency: someone who moves first, closes loops, and removes the need for anyone above them to re-check the numbers.

What You Will Own

• Lead the accounts team: directly manage 2 offshore Accounts Executives plus an intern — daily priorities, review, training, performance, and accountability for output.

• Own the close: accurate, on-time month-end and year-end closing across all Figment entities (our property-holding, operating, and related entities).

• Run AP & AR: keep payables clean and suppliers paid on time; keep receivables current and aging under control.

• Own cash flow: maintain a rolling cash-flow forecast, ensure funds availability, and give management a clear weekly view of the cash position.

• Build budgets & control cost: develop annual budgets with department heads, monitor performance, run variance analysis, and surface actionable insight.

• Build the financial models: forecasts, scenarios, and reporting that support capital, deal, and operating decisions.

• Guard compliance: maintain financial policies, internal controls, and segregation of duties; ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards and statutory obligations.

• Run payroll: accurate, on-time payroll and statutory contributions (e.g. CPF).

• Manage the external stack: work with auditors, tax advisors, and the SG team to deliver a clean year-end audit and timely filings.

• Use AI and digital tools: Xero, Asana, and Claude to sharpen reporting, reconciliations, and workflow — and to automate the manual checking out of the function.

What We Are Looking For

• 3–5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience, ideally including full-cycle ownership (AP, AR, GL, close, payroll, compliance).

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA / ACCA a plus.• Proven ownership of month-end / year-end close — not just participation in one slice of it.

• Multi-entity experience: comfortable running books and intercompany across several legal entities.

• Working knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, CPF, and the external audit process.

• Strong cash flow, budgeting, and FP&A skills; can build a model and explain a variance.

• Proficiency with financial software; knowledge of Xero is a clear advantage.

• Strong comfort with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and clear financial reporting.

• Excellent written and spoken English; conversational Mandarin or Malay is a plus given our team and vendor mix.

• Comfortable managing offshore team members and working hands-on in a lean environment.

Key Competencies (Top 5)

1. Accuracy, Controls & Ownership

You catch the misposting, the unreconciled balance, the missed accrual — and fix it to 100% before it reaches a report. You live by controls, reconciliations, and audit trails, and build them where they don't yet exist.

2. Agency & Initiative

You move first. You spot the gap, the risk, or the better way and act without being told — bringing solutions, not just problems — and you stay calm and prioritise through month-end and tight deadlines.

3. Commercial Insight

You turn numbers into decisions, flagging cost, cash, and margin risks before they bite.

4. AI & Systems Leverage

You're fluent with Xero, spreadsheets, and AI tools (Claude), and you use them to speed up reporting, reconciliations, and comms — and to remove manual checking.

5. People Leadership & Stakeholder Control

You set priorities, train, and coach a small offshore team, and you hold auditors, tax advisors, and vendors to agreed standards, timelines, and cost while partnering cleanly across the company.

Nice to Have

• Hospitality, real estate, serviced apartment, coliving, or property operations finance experience.

• Multi-currency / cross-border accounting exposure.

• Experience setting up or improving finance systems and controls in a growing company.

• Experience training and developing junior accounts staff.

Why This Role Matters

Figment is a premium product, and a growing one. The Accounts & Finance Manager keeps the foundation solid — clean books, visible cash, every dollar accounted for. You're the financial backbone that lets Figment take bold bets on irreplaceable buildings with confidence.

If you take pride in a well-run set of books, love building order out of complexity, and want direct responsibility for the financial health of one of Singapore's most distinctive heritage companies — this role is for you.
