The Accounts Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the finance team with bookkeeping, invoicing, payments, and reconciliations. This role assists in maintaining financial controls and compliance, preparing reports, and supporting audits to facilitate smooth and efficient accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
- Record, process, and verify invoices, payments, receipts, and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely collections and payments and escalate discrepancies promptly.
Bookkeeping & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate data, proper documentation, and timely submission.
- Prepare and submit GST or other statutory tax filings as required, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and deadlines.
Invoice and Payment Management
- Generate, issue, and track invoices to clients or customers accurately and promptly.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and assist in resolving billing or payment discrepancies.
- Process supplier payments in accordance with approved procedures and maintain proper payment schedules and records.
Compliance & Auditing Support
- Adhere strictly to company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist in internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain proper filing, documentation, and confidentiality of financial records in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
General Accounting & Administrative Support
- Coordinate with internal departments to support financial and accounting operations.
- Handle petty cash and expense claims in accordance with company policy.
- Carry out lawful and reasonable accounting or administrative tasks as assigned by management or authorized supervisors.
