Company Overview
Our client is a ship management company, specialising in the operation and management of LPG tankers. The company operates with a lean team structure, providing hands-on exposure to shipping and vessel-related accounting functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Check and journalise monthly crew-related transactions and ship statements.
- Review charterers and agents Voyage Disbursement Accounts (VDA), ensuring accurate breakdown of line items and correct account coding.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to disbursement accounts and voyage costs.
- Issue invoices and credit notes to customers accurately and on time.
- Reconcile inter-company balances and manage monthly inter-company billing, journals, and settlements.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Work closely with internal departments and external crew manning agents.
- Perform other ad-hoc accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience within the shipping or ship management industry.
- Hands-on experience in handling Disbursement Accounts (VDA) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Meticulous, organised, and detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A committed and reliable team player.
