The Accounts Executive is a hands-on operational role responsible for day-to-day accounting and finance activities including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, month-end closing process as well as procurement activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational Accounting (hands-on):
- Manage the month-end closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals and adjustments
- Perform bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger integrity and prepare timely supporting schedules
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections
- Record accounts payable, review and verify payments to suppliers, petty cash and staff reimbursement
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Compliance & Audit:
- Support the annual statutory audit process
- Prepare the statutory tax filings (withholding tax, corporate tax, GST etc.)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (IFRS/SFRS), internal controls and regulatory requirements
Procurement:
- Raise Purchase Requisitions (PR) based on department needs
- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) to approved suppliers in a timely manner
- Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery dates, and any required documentation
- Collect and verify supplier invoices to ensure accuracy before posting into General Ledger for payment processing
- Maintain basic procurement records such as PR/PO logs, supplier documents, and delivery notes
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth procurement workflow
The role may be required to work on ad-hoc matters or finance related projects in addition to what is covered above.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications
- At least 4 - 5 years of relevant working experience in handling full set of accounts
- Advanced Excel skills
- Able to express thoughts clearly and logically in both written and verbal communication
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and results-oriented mindset
- Self-driven, proactive, meticulous, good interpersonal and communication skills, able to multi-task and work under tight schedules
- Good knowledge of IFRS/ SFRS and auditing standards
