Job Description

Position Overview
The Accounts Executive is responsible for the accurate and timely management of the full set of accounts for Yum Cha Restaurant and the Central Kitchen. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal financial controls. The incumbent will support daily finance operations, month-end closing activities, and provide financial insights to management to facilitate informed decision-making.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the full set of accounts for restaurant outlets and central kitchen, including general ledger, AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and month-end schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for monthly and quarterly GST reporting, and handle all GST-related matters in accordance with IRAS requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of corporate income tax returns and related statutory filings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing, including financial reporting and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for bank charges, GIRO transactions, and other adjustments based on bank statements.
  • Update and maintain accounting schedules such as fixed assets registers, AP and AR ageing reports, and other reconciliation schedules.
  • Liaise with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and support audit queries to ensure smooth completion of annual audits.
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting duties and administrative tasks as may be assigned to support the finance function.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as LCCI, ACCA (Fundamentals), or equivalent will be an advantage.


Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in F&B environment
  • Proven experience handling full sets of accounts independently, including multi-entity or multi-outlet structures.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, GST regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with POS reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and audit preparation.
  • Ability to work as a sole contributor, managing day-to-day accounting operations independently while coordinating closely with operations teams.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to details, and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines for month-end closing, GST submissions, and audit deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work closely with operations teams across outlets and the central kitchen.
  • Ability to communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers to manage invoices, statements, and operational queries.
