Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Accounts Executive to manage daily accounting operations and support financial processes within our construction business, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and audit activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company records
  • Prepare, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies to maintain financial integrity
  • Reconcile accounts with the general ledger to ensure accurate financial data recording
  • Respond to general accounting and payment-related queries to support smooth financial operations
  • Follow up with clients on overdue invoices to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding payments
  • Assist in preparing project-related costings and respond to ad-hoc costing requests to support project budgeting and financial planning
  • Support month-end closing activities and prepare basic financial reports to facilitate management review
  • Manage taxation-related duties, including GST compliance, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with auditors from the subsidiary in India and parent company in Singapore, providing necessary documentation and assistance during audit periods
  • Maintain organized filing and documentation of accounting records to support audit readiness and financial transparency
  • Perform ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed to support the finance team and overall business operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience demonstrating practical application of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze and manage financial data effectively
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, to streamline accounting processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate within a close-knit, family business environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a supportive and flexible work culture
