Job Summary

You will support the firm's finance, billing, and administrative functions by ensuring accurate financial records, timely invoicing, and efficient accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maintain accurate financial transactions
  • Operate Corematter accounting software to process and track financial data
  • Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, credit notes, and statements of account with accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor outstanding client payments and conduct professional follow-ups to ensure collections
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to support financial stability
  • Process staff claims, reimbursements, and petty cash records to maintain accurate expense tracking
  • Assist with monthly financial closing, journal entries, and preparation of management reports
  • Maintain organised and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Prepare legal bills based on lawyers instructions, time costs, disbursements, and fee structures to ensure correct billing
  • Ensure prompt and accurate issuance of invoices and maintain billing schedules to meet deadlines
  • Track collections and update payment status reports to provide clear financial visibility
  • Liaise with lawyers regarding work-in-progress (WIP), billing progress, and client payment matters to facilitate smooth operations
  • Assist management with budgeting, cost control, and finance-related reporting to support strategic decisions
  • Support office administration and perform ad hoc duties as required to maintain operational efficiency
  • Maintain organised filing systems for finance and billing documents to ensure easy retrieval and compliance

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Knowledge of Singapore accounting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software such as Corematter
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and follow-up skills
  • Responsible and discreet handling of confidential matters
