Job Summary
What you will do
We are seeking an experienced and handson candidate to lead the regional accounting and statutory compliance function for our multinational operations across Asia. This role manages endtoend accounting, shared service governance, statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial governance.
- Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Lead and manage full spectrum of financial accounting activities.
- Oversee closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, analytical reviews.
- Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, local GAAP), ensure robust accounting governance & consistency.
- Team Leadership & Shared Services Management
- Manage and mentor a team of accountants.
- Act as primary liaison with shared service teams, ensuring service quality, SLA adherence, oversee transactional accounting processes (AP & AR) executed by shared services.
- Implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls, drive continuous improvement.
- Audit & Compliance
- Lead preparation for annual audits, ensure timely & accurate submission of required schedules & explanations.
- Work closely with external auditors.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of accounting policies, procedures, strong internal controls alignment.
- Tax Compliance & Advisory
- Prepare corporate tax computations, deferred tax calculations, GST/VAT submissions, statutory tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax agents to ensure full compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on company's operations.
- Board Meeting & Governance Support
- Coordinate and prepare finance-related materials (management reports, financial packages, analytical commentary).
- Collaborate closely with Corporate Secretary for timely submission of board papers, accurate documentation, adherence to protocol.
- Support preparation of resolutions, statutory filings, and documentation for board approval.
- Financial Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen and maintain robust internal control frameworks including balance sheet integrity, risk mitigation measures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate tasks, drive operational excellence.
- Support system enhancements or finance transformation initiatives.
- Business Support
- Provide financial insights, analysis, and decision support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA) strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS/local GAAP and Corporate taxation.
- Hands-on experience with closing, shared services coordination, audit management, tax compliance.
- Experience preparing Board materials, working with Corporate Secretaries is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred.
- Proactive, hands-on leader who enjoys diving into details while maintaining a strategic mindset.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, can work under tight deadlines and unstructured environment
- Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively, excellent analytical skills, stakeholder management.
- Able to bring structure, discipline, continuous improvement.
