Role Description:
This role ensures that Accounting services are enabled by secure, compliant,
and scalable technology, directly supporting the Group's ability to deliver
accurate financial reporting and meet tax and statutory obligations across
jurisdictions.
By owning the Accounting technology domain end‑to‑end, the IT Accounting
Domain Solutions Lead reduces operational, financial, and regulatory risk,
enables consistent and efficient service delivery, and acts as a trusted business
technology partner to senior leadership.
Job Purpose:
The Accounting Domain Solutions Lead is responsible for the end‑to‑end
ownership, strategy, and delivery of technology solutions supporting
Accounting services.
This role acts as the primary business technology partner to the Accounting
functions, ensuring that bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and
statutory obligations are effectively enabled through scalable, compliant, and
secure IT platforms, with a strong focus on automation and multi‑jurisdiction
operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Domain & Solution Ownership
- Own the Accounting technology domain, including accounting and ERP platforms (e.g. general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliation), tax compliance and filing tools, OCR and document processing pipelines, and related integrations.
- Define and maintain domain roadmaps, solution architectures, and lifecycle plans aligned with business strategy and regulatory change.
- Ensure solution designs align with Group IT architecture standards, security policies, and governance frameworks.
Business Technology Partnership
- Act as the primary IT partner to Accounting leadership, translating financial reporting, tax, operational, and service requirements into effective technology solutions.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and digitisation across the end‑to‑end accounting cycle, from document intake and bookkeeping through reconciliation, reporting, and filing.
- Support business case development and prioritisation of Accounting technology initiatives, including automation investment planning.
Governance, Risk & Compliance Enablement
- Ensure systems support compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. HKFRS, IFRS, local GAAP), tax regulations, and statutory filing obligations across operating jurisdictions.
- Embed auditability, data governance, access controls, and IT risk controls into all Accounting solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams.
Delivery & Change Management
- Oversee solution design, enhancements, upgrades, and integrations, working with internal delivery teams and external vendors.
- Govern change delivery to ensure minimal disruption to client deliverables, reporting cycles, and statutory and tax filing deadlines.
- Ensure operational readiness, documentation, and support models are in place.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with accounting and tax system vendors, SaaS providers, and implementation partners.
- Coordinate across enterprise architecture, security, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure cohesive and compliant delivery.
Regional & Global Alignment
- Support regional standardisation of accounting platforms while accommodating local regulatory, tax, and reporting nuances.
- Represent the Accounting domain in architecture reviews, governance forums, and global IT initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years experience in IT solution ownership, enterprise applications, or business systems roles.
- Proven experience partnering with senior business stakeholders in regulated or governance‑heavy environments.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance‑driven delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting and ERP platforms (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Xero, or similar), tax compliance tools, or finance automation solutions.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and tax frameworks across Asia‑Pacific jurisdictions.
- Experience in professional services, financial services, or similarly regulated industries.
