Accountant

About the Role

Yamazaki Mazak Singapore is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to support our finance operations in a precision engineering and manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, inventory accounting, compliance, and month-end close activities while partnering closely with operational teams to maintain strong financial governance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain broad exposure across manufacturing finance, audit, inventory management, and ERP-driven finance processes within a global Japanese MNC.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial schedules
• Maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts and support monthly management reporting
• Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for management review

Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting

• Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and inventory valuation activities
• Monitor raw materials, WIP, and finished goods balances and investigate discrepancies
• Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory transactions

Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Prepare audit schedules and support external audit requirements
• Assist with GST reporting, tax schedules, and statutory compliance activities
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements

Accounts Operations

• Support AP and AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing
• Monitor outstanding balances and coordinate with stakeholders on issue resolution

ERP & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate accounting records within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent ERP systems
• Participate in finance process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives
• Support the enhancement of accounting controls and reporting efficiency

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 4–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
• Experience in month-end closing, financial reporting, audit support, and inventory accounting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or Infor,

• Strong accounting fundamentals and analytical skills
• Good understanding of inventory accounting and financial controls
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Detail-oriented with a structured and disciplined approach
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions.
