Our Client is a Japanese MNC consumer electronics manufacturer and precision company. They are looking for an Accountant to join their organization.
Reporting to Senior Finance and Accounting Manager
Responsibilities
1) Accounting functions:
- Encompasses a full spectrum of hands-on accounting activities
- Organize, supervise/coach, and work closely with Accounts Executives and the Business Unit key personnel ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing
- Review month-end/quarter-end/year-end journal entries and supporting reconciliations and tackle problems in day-to-day work
- Perform monthly checks on various divisional Sales, Purchases, and Inventory to reconcile between the Business System and Accounting System
- Conduct physical cash count per internal policy
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly financial statements using SAP FICO to stakeholders
- Prepare internal management reporting and group financial reporting and its supporting analysis for management review also handle queries from management.
- Prepare timely sub-reports/schedules/supporting workings to complete HQ reporting package on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly basis and monthly balance sheet schedules
- Check divisional inventory write-down proposal before handing it over to their sales coordinator for execution thereafter do the final check after the actual write-down exercise is being carried out and ensure all documentation and necessary approvals are obtained
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of the accounting team such as banking matters, accounts receivable, accounts payable, GST, inventory, and fixed assets, to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements
- Check and review all accounting documents/entries performed by Accounts Executives
- Handle accounts mapping, financial reports settings and maintain the chart of accounts in alignment with the group (HQ)
- Prepare and complete various annual surveys requested by the Department of Statistics, Singapore
2) Auditing and Internal control function:
- Assist in reviewing and enhancing the internal control process in view of J-SOX implementation and assist in documentation.
- Coordinating the J-sox audit process and providing necessary documents
- Handle external and internal audits, including preparing audit schedules and year-end intercom confirmation master files and other supporting documents.
- Prepare audited financial statements.
- Continuously improve and streamline accounting processes within the department and organization.
3) Taxation function:
- Handle the company's double tax deduction matters and maintain a schedule for corporate tax purposes
- Liaise with tax agents on corporate tax queries and providing tax schedules.
- Ensure correct GST treatment in daily transactions and oversee timely quarterly GST submissions.
- Handle WHT and COR applications when required.
Requirement & Preferences
(Must)
- Degree in Accounting / ACCA qualification
- At least 3-4 years as an Accountant covering full sets and financial reporting in fast-paced/MNC settings
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and SAP is a must
- Working experience in internal audit control and J-Sox
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and produce accurate financial results
- Has experience managing junior executive staff
