Accountant

Position Title: Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting Department
Reports To: Finance & Accounting Manager / Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary

The Accountant is responsible formaintaining accurate accounting records, supporting trading settlement,preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with the Company'saccounting policies, applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Support payment processing and trading settlement activities.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and assist with statutory reporting and audits.
• Coordinate with Trading, Shipping, Trade Finance and other departments on accounting matters.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and support continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Finance & Accounting Manager or Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications &Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum two (02) years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in commodity trading or the oil & gas industry is an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, teamwork and attention to detail.
